Description

The Department of Occupational and Environmental Medicine has main functions in the western part of Region Southern Denmark for the occupational and environmental medicine and occupational psychology outpatient examination of patients as well as general occupational and environmental medicine advisory questions.

Esbjerg Hospital, Grindsted Hospital, Southern Danish University Hospital is a well-run emergency hospital that treats patients in almost all specialties. The hospital is developing rapidly with an established heliport, a new day surgery and a new bed building. The bed building contains 158 private rooms and helps to support a dynamic and flexible hospital that matches the future demands and expectations of patients and staff.

In addition, a master’s degree in medicine has been established, which brings the hospital into the company of only five other hospitals in the country and gives us a very special role. The ambition is to create Denmark’s best doctors in collaboration with the University of Southern Denmark and local health professionals.

The department has 13 permanent employees and a varying number of doctors in training, PhD courses and other project employees. There are currently 15 employees.

The department serves approx. 600,000 citizens in southern Jutland. The department has a considerable, externally funded activity in the form of projects and work for Occupational Insurance.

Requirements
  • Specialist title recognized in the European Union
  • EU citizenship
  • Good teamwork, reliability, responsibility, flexibility
  • Ability and availability to complete the Danish intensive
    language course
