The Eye Clinic in Västervik provides specialized eye care to the residents of northern Kalmar county. The clinic consists of eye clinics in Västervik, Vimmerby and Oskarshamn as well as a day ward and surgery department. About 50 employees with different skills work with us; doctor, eye nurse, nurse, optician, orthoptist, assistant nurse and medical secretaries. The largest volumes for the clinic are diagnostics and treatment of cataracts and cataracts, treatment for macular degeneration, diabetic changes, macular diseases and eye diseases in children. We have a care place at the hospital for inpatients. In our surgery department, we perform cataract surgery, glaucoma surgery, plastic surgery as well as injections called Anti-VEGF treatments.

Ophthalmology Department is part of the county’s somatic health care system and provides specialized eye care for the county’s residents. We have full reception operations in three locations in the county. Our mission is to investigate, treat and operate on diseases in and around the eye. In total, we have just under 100 employees in the county, where several professional categories work closely together with the patient at the center.

Ideal profile:

We are looking for you as a senior physician/specialist in ophthalmology and want to complement our well-functioning medical group at the Eye Clinic in Västervik. If you have knowledge in medical retina, it is meritorious, experience of having worked in ophthalmology for a couple of years is also desirable.

Driver’s license required.

• Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the field.
• Medical degree and specialist diploma obtained within the European Union
• European Union citizenship or long-term residency permit
• Good standing and clear criminal records
• Good teamwork, reliability, responsibility, flexibility
• We do not require Swedish – language free of charge course will be provided after accepting the job!
